There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The Georgia Tech Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Brandon Houghtalen, Conductor, presents Ludwig van Beethoven’s tragic "Coriolan Overture," Aaron Copland’s music for the film version of the Pulitzer-Prize winning play "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder, and Maurice Ravel’s stunning orchestration of Modest Mussorgsky’s "Pictures at an Exhibition."
Breaking Barriers is the first in an ongoing series of concerts designed for the 21st Century audience. Traditional concert “rules” will be altered, bent, and/or broken: each audience member will be able to choose the manner in which she chooses to engage with the music, from live-tweeting to reading the newspaper to checking Facebook. And if you want to come, unplug, and simply enjoy fantastic music—you can do that, too. All are welcome.
