The Georgia Tech Library and Tech Gamers Guild will join hundreds of libraries throughout the country on November 16, 2013 from 10 am – 4 pm, for the 6th annual celebration of gaming in libraries – International Games Day @ GTLibrary. Like so many other libraries across the country and around the world, GT Library will offer special gaming programs and events suitable for all ages.
“Libraries are becoming popular destinations on college campuses for obvious reasons, and are continuously offering new formats and innovative programs and services that educate, entertain and expand interaction with their users,” said Karen Glover, Access Services Librarian and Assistant Department Head, Georgia Tech Library. “Gaming is yet another example of how libraries are becoming more than just educational resources for the communities that they serve. They are also places where library users are welcome to have fun together.”
At the GT Library, users will play RPG, board games, a Mario Cart tournament, and Werewolf (social deduction game).
International Games Day @ GTLibrary is a national initiative supported by the American Library Association. For more information on National Gaming Day please visit http://ilovelibraries.org/gaming.
