There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Based on the Provost's Task Force Study, the Subcommittee on Faculty Definition has been charged by the Executive Board to “develop and refine a plan for revised definition of faculty categories for Georgia Tech."
"General faculty" status is being removed and each job title will be designated as either "academic faculty," "research faculty," or "staff." Individuals in job titles that change to "staff" will be grandfathered in to maintain their vacation benefits. The purpose of this town hall meeting is to provide an opportunity to explain and discuss the subcommittee recommendations for faculty and staff designations and the corresponding changes needed in the arrangements for faculty governance.
