No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Join the School of Modern Languages in celebrating Hispanic heritage and the study of Spanish at Georgia Tech.
A reception at 7:00 p.m. will feature guest speaker Dr. John D. Cressler, Schlumberger Chair in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and author of Emeralds of the Alhambra. Dr. Cressler will give a talk titled Revisiting Medieval Spain and Convivencia: A Forgotten Era of Religious Harmony followed by a book signing.
The day leading up to Dr. Cressler’s talk includes music, cooking, a video competition, films, and more. Activities will take place all day in the Swann Building and courtyard.
About Emeralds of the Alhambra:
Dr.Cressler’s debut novel is an interfaith love story set in the resplendent Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain during the Castilian Civil War (1367-1369), a time when Muslims took up swords to fight alongside Christians.
