There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. In a recent editorial, School of City and Regional Planning Professor Dan Immergluck outlines the need for a new Atlanta Housing Authority Commissioner "to be more than a manager of federal programs." In light of expected development around the city, Immergluck writes, "He or she needs to confront [social and economic] problems, work with other housing agencies, and provide leadership in the affordable housing arena at a critical time. Without such attention, Atlanta is likely to continue to rank high among those urban areas with the least economic mobility."
