In a recent editorial, School of City and Regional Planning Professor Dan Immergluck outlines the need for a new Atlanta Housing Authority Commissioner "to be more than a manager of federal programs." In light of expected development around the city, Immergluck writes, "He or she needs to confront [social and economic] problems, work with other housing agencies, and provide leadership in the affordable housing arena at a critical time. Without such attention, Atlanta is likely to continue to rank high among those urban areas with the least economic mobility."
