Student Diversity Programs is honored to partner with the Anti-Prejudice Awareness Consortium to host the Power Over Prejudice (POP) Summit. The POP Summit brings together teams of middle schoolers from 80 metro area public, private and religious schools for a positive, interactive learning experience. Students from different ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic and religious backgrounds work in small groups led by community volunteers who are trained facilitators.

You are invited to be a facilitator or logistics volunteer for the 2013 Power Over Prejudice Summit.  This year's Summit runs October 29, 30 & 31, and will be held at the Student Center Ballroom.

There are two ways you can volunteer:

Workshop Facilitator

A workshop facilitator will actually lead a structured diversity training experience with a group of about 15 middle school children. Facilitators will be required to go through a four-hour training to be able to be a facilitator. There is a training session offered at night and another session is offered on a Saturday. Most sessions are co-facilitated. Your commitment will be from approximately 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Volunteers

Volunteers will sign-up for a specific time frame. Depending on the time of day you choose, you may greet the buses, hand out t-shirts, assist with registration, pass out lunch, or set-up/clean -up.

To sign up to be a facilitator or volunteer go to http://poweroverprejudice.org/pop-summit-registration/.
