Steve French's vision for Georgia Tech's College of Architecture

Receiving roughly $750 million in sponsored research last year, almost twice the amount collected in state funding and tuition combined, Steve French is not shy in championing Georgia Tech’s dynamic research dexterity. “Most of the grand challenges in this country don’t fit any one discipline; they cross over many disciplines,” said French, a long-time faculty member in the School of City and Regional Planning and recently named dean of the College of Architecture. “Georgia Tech is the best place I’ve seen for doing inter-disciplinary research."
