Atlanta Premiere of Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth, a documentary film by Pratibha Parmar about the life and art of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of ‘The Color Purple.’ Immediately following the screening, Valerie Boyd, Charlayne Hunter-Gault Distinguished Writer in Residence at Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia will moderate a conversation with Alice Walker and Pratibha Parmar.  VIP Reception 5:00 p.m; Screening and dialogue 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Co-sponsors: Alice Walker Literary Society, Spelman College, BronzeLens Film Festival, Emory University, and Gerogia Tech Ivan Allen College.

This event is part of Africa Atlanta 2014, which is organized by the Georgia Tech Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and the Consulate General of Belgium in Atlanta, and the Africa Atlanta 2014 partners.
