There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Full Summary:

Dear Student Affairs Colleagues,

Here we are at the beginning of the fall semester, welcoming all of our new and returning students. The summer was quite amazing! We welcomed 3,115 undergraduate students and 2,897 of their guests to campus during FASET Orientation. As most of you know, I too am now a parent of a college freshman student and it has given me a profound appreciation for all that we do to make our students and family members feel informed and connected to the Institute. My sincere thanks to all of you who touch the lives of these students and their parents/guests during this transition!

Dear Student Affairs Colleagues,

As most of you know, I too am now a parent of a college freshman student and it has given me a profound appreciation for all that we do to make our students and family members feel informed and connected to the Institute. While each department in the Division has been very busy preparing for the fall semester, there are a few highlights I would like to bring to your attention.

Stamps Field remains under construction for the foreseeable future. While there are many rumors (some quite bizarre) floating around, I can assure you that the delay is primarily due to the inordinate amount of rain we received this summer. Campus Recreation has done a great job in accommodating the Sports Clubs and Intramural teams who rely upon this space. I encourage you to visit the Campus Recreation website for more information.

Coming this September, the Counseling Center is launching Georgia Tech’s inaugural National Recovery Month. There are many workshops and events planned in the next few weeks to help bring awareness to mental health and substance abuse issues. More information can be found on the newly revamped Counseling Center website.

And as you read below, you will see that we continue to hire staff members to meet the needs of our departments, as well as our dynamic student community. I encourage you all to introduce yourselves and help them feel welcome to the Division and to Georgia Tech.

Again, my sincere thanks for your help this summer and here’s to a successful fall!

Go Jackets!
