The Georgia Tech Office of the Arts will host an Arts Open House on Thursday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ferst Center for the Arts.  The Open House will give students a window into the arts experiences available on campus this year.

At the Open House students can:

  • Learn about Drama Tech, the TechArts Festival, vocal and instrumental music, digital media, poetry, dance, arts and crafts and more.
  • Learn about shows and exhibits coming to campus.
  • Purchase tickets to all shows in the 2013-14 Ferst Center Presents series including Diavolo, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Pat Metheny Unity Group and more.
  • Learn about Engineered Art: An International Sculpture Exhibit at Georgia Tech, Tech's new 15-piece outdoor sculpture exhibition curated by renowned sculptor John Henry.
  • Learn about the Woodruff Arts Pass – a great way to enjoy the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Alliance Theatre and High Museum of Art exclusive to Georgia Tech students.  Passes will be on sale.
  • Participate in a movement workshop led by Georgia Tech resident artist, choreographer Jonah Bokaer (begins at 11:00 a.m.).
  • Enjoy free lunch and student performances. Student performers include Steven Strouble, DramaTech Theater, Georgia Tech Dance Company, Alex Duncan, Caroline Walden, Brent Hornilla and Magicians at Georgia Tech.
  • Enter to win free tickets and other giveaways. The first 100 people get a free Arts@Tech T-shirt!

The Office of the Arts is a leader for the Georgia Tech community in the exploration of the arts by advocating, promoting and facilitating arts partnerships that enhance the campus arts experience, providing provocative fine arts choices on campus and creating a bridge to the larger Atlanta community. The Georgia Tech Office of the Arts, the faculty-led Council of the Arts and an Arts Advisory Board comprised of alumni and community members was formed in 2012 as part of an ongoing strategic initiative effort to foster creativity and enhance the campus arts environment.
