There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Ian Bogost, professor in the School of Literature, Communication, and Culture, was quoted in a Polygon article entitled The Apple Obstacle for Serious Games in June. He explains, "The real problem, he says, isn't Apple's guidelines — the real problem is how we've allowed a corporate-owned channel to dominate the distribution of software. What we should be worried about is the corporate ownership in control of a very popular, increasingly important distribution channel."
