Anne Pollock, an assistant professor in the School of Literature, Communication, and Culture, wrote an article in the The Atlantic in June about the drug Enbrel, and its effect upon current medicine. Pollock explains that while "it may be tempting to conclude that Enbrel is just a luxury drug, but it actually does improve quality of life for many people suffering from severe joint pain. Moreover, it provides a more general lesson about our contemporary experience of health and disease in the post-industrial economy." Source: The Atlantic, June 18, 2013
