Dr. Christine Ries, Professor of Economics, was featured in a segment on Fox News for America’s Newsroom discussing the growing film industry in the state of Georgia and the tax incentives the state provides to the industry. Dr. Ries opposes the tax incentives stating that it disrupts the free market.
The segment, which was filmed in the School of Economics Office at Georgia Tech, aired multiple times throughout the day on Wednesday, June 5th and was referenced in an article for Foxnews.com.
Ries has spoken previously on her opposition to the tax incentives on a “Hollywood in Georgia” panel discussion for Georgia Public TV.
