Setting the Table for a Hotter, Flatter, More Crowded Earth

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is dedicating significant resources to advance innovation within the agriculture sector. Specifically, USDA wants to address significant grand challenges, such as how do you feed a growing population with increasing pressure on vital resources such as land and water. Dr. Sonny Ramaswamy, USDA’s Director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA’s extramural research arm), will be on Georgia Tech’s campus June 20 to talk about this and other challenges that will require multi-faceted approaches and expertise ranging from engineering to social sciences.
