Office of the Dean of Students Welcomes New Staff

The Office of the Dean of Students is extremely pleased to welcome new members to its team.

The Office of New Student & Sophomore Programs welcomes Genna Martella as the new Graduate Assistant. Genna graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in Psychology and minors in Women's Studies and Leadership. At USF, Genna served as the Executive Director of USF's Campus Activities Board, Resident Assistant, and Dance Marathon Event Manager. Genna will continue at the University of Georgia in the College Student Affairs Administration (CSAA) Masters Program.

E.Gerome Stephens, PhD, will join as the Director of Leadership & Civic Engagement beginning on Monday, July 1, 2013. Gerome joins us from his most recent appointment as the Coordinator of Student Leadership and Service Learning at the University of Louisville. Prior to that he was the Student Activities Coordinator at Morehead State University. Gerome earned his BA in Elementary Education from Morehead State University, a MA in Public Communications also from Morehead State University, and his PhD in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Louisville.

Also joining the Office in early July is Kelly Cross as the new Coordinator in the Office of Leadership & Civic Engagement. Kelly comes to Georgia Tech from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, where she has served as the Assistant Director for Student Activities since July 2009. Kelly completed both a bachelor's degree in History and a master's degree in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education at Texas A & M University. In her professional and graduate positions, Kelly has had significant experience advising student organizations, overseeing large scale programming, and designing and facilitating workshops.
