Jason Kraft, a student employee in the Georgia Tech Police Department’s Office of Emergency Preparedness, has been awarded the GTPD Commendation Award for his dedication and selflessness over the past three years.. Beginning in 2010 as a volunteer, Jason has qualified in almost all Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) areas of responsibility. An example of his dedication is his work during all home football games for two years in an unpaid status. In this capacity, he set up the Tactical Operations Center and operated and monitored stadium surveillance cameras. Under Jason’s leadership, the Georgia Tech-Campus Emergency Response Team moved to a much higher level of readiness with his efforts to training more than 100 volunteers. Jason always accepted project responsibility with an optimistic outlook and consistently demonstrated extremely high motivation and professionalism. His outstanding performance makes him a most deserving recipient of the Georgia Tech Police Department Commendation Award.
