There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

"There is no way to ignore [Massive Open Online Courses], so becoming part of the conversation by also becoming part of the process is the only way to find out what is, or is not, possible," writes Karen Head, assistant professor in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, in a guest blog for The Chronicle of Higher Education. Head has been working since November on developing a MOOC that teaches first-year English composition. Source: The Chronicle of Higher Education, April 29, 2013
