Students who are enrolled for summer classes have a variety of parking and transportation options available for Summer 2013. Here’s more information about prorated parking permits as well as the special reduced transit schedule.
Parking
Students who currently own 2012-13 annual parking permits (Annual Individual, Annual Carpool, Evening/Weekend, Motorcycle and SmartPark) may use them through August 14, 2013.
If students need permits for the summer months, Parking and Transportation Services is currently selling 2012-13 Annual Individual, Evening/Weekend and Motorcycle at prorated prices. To purchase a permit, students should visit the PTS office and bring their BuzzCard or license and original vehicle registration.
To view the available parking zones, visit www.pts.gatech.edu and click Parking Permit Availability.
Normal parking regulations will be in effect during the summer. If you are leaving your car on campus this summer, please call (404)385-PARK to find alternate parking.
2013-14 Parking Registration
Students who need parking permits for 2013-14 should participate in online parking permit registration before June 15, 2013. Students may choose to keep their current permit assignment or choose up to five alternate locations.
Permits issued through online registration will be valid for use on August 15, 2013. Students may choose to have their permits mailed to them in July or to pick them up from the Parking and Transportation Services office in August. All student permit fees will be transferred to their Buzzport/Bursar accounts in mid/late July for payment with fall tuition and fees.
To register, visit www.pts.gatech.edu and click on My Parking Account.
Transportation Schedules
Tech Trolley and Stinger Buses:
Starting Monday, May 6, 2013, Parking and Transportation Services will implement a reduced transit schedule for the Tech Trolley and the Red and Blue Stingers. Tech Trolleys and Stingers will run during their normal hours of operation; however, wait times will be increased between each bus due to fewer vehicles on each route. Click here for summer schedules.
Grocery Shuttle:
The grocery shuttle will operate using its normal route and schedule. Visit www.pts.gatech.edu and click on Transportation for the full schedule.
Stingerette:
Stingerette will operate as normal. It will be available for rides between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. each night. Call 5-RIDE (404-385-7433) or visit www.stingerette.com to schedule a ride.
Emory Shuttle:
The Emory Shuttle will operate on a reduced schedule starting Monday, May 6, 2013 from 8:15 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. The last drop off at Emory is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. The last drop off at Georgia Tech will be at 4:12 p.m. A Stingerette van will be used instead of the Emory Shuttle for summer service. Visit www.pts.gatech.edu and click on Transportation for the full summer schedule.
Midnight Rambler:
The last day for the Midnight Rambler to operate will be Friday, May 3, 2013. The shuttles will resume normal operation on the first day of classes in the fall starting August 19, 2013.
