Every semester, the G.I.T. FIT program at the Campus Recreation Center (CRC) hosts Georgia Tech’s Biggest Loser Program. With 12 participants in the program, the challenge was a huge success!

All of the contestants share a common goal of losing weight while getting in shape and staying healthy.  In order to meet these goals, participants kept a detailed food log and engaged in challenging, fun workouts over 12 weeks.  At the end of the long journey, the title of Georgia Tech’s Biggest Loser was awarded to Jeffery Howard, who shed 32 pounds — weight loss percentage of 14.35 percent!

During the challenging program, a total of 116 pounds were lost among the participants. The highest percent of weight loss went to the “Warriors” Team with an average of 5.19 percent weight lost per person.

Michelle Collins of the “We The Best” team was the point total winner with a score of 279. Following close behind was Jeffery Howard of the “Warriors” Team with 219 total points and Nicole Caruso of the “Jumping Jacks” Team with 209 points.
