There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

"SCOPES - Single Cell Oscillatory Platform for Extracellular Stimulation over a Large Dynamic Range"
The cellular environment that drives intracellular signaling is inherently dynamic. We have developed a SCOPES, which enables immobilization of single cells in defined compartments and subsequent exposure to precise, temporal stimuli of large dynamic range, and simultaneous imaging of intracellular signaling. We exposed cells to oscillatory stimuli and observed diverse Ca2+ levels within an isogenic cell population.

"In-vivo Association of Wall Shear Stress and Changes in Coronary Plaque Artery Morphology"
Atherosclerotic plaques have been found to develop in low shear stress regions. The composition of these lesions alters over time and a further understanding of these morphology changes in relation to wall shear stress is required. The current study aims to relate changes in plaque morphology as measured by Virtual Histology Intravascular Ultrasound (VH-IVUS) over a 1 year period to baseline wall shear stress.
