A Conversation Among Presidents: Compassion in Science and Technology is a panel discussion among the presidents of Agnes Scott College, Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. Plans for this conversation emerged from the awarding of the 2012 Ivan Allen Jr. Prize for Social Courage to Dr. William Foege and Georgia Tech’s year-long conversation about science, race and ethics spurred on by Georgia Tech’s First-Year Reading Program for 2012-2013, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.

The 60-minute conversation will explore the ways that compassion and concern for others has returned as a vital element in the education at colleges and universities.

A reception with light refreshments will be held immediately following the program.

Students, faculty, and staff from Agnes Scott College, Emory University, Georgia Tech, Morehouse College, and Spelman College are invited to attend.
