Second-year Brittain Fellow Christopher Weedman’s essay, “Notre Musique: Godard’s Shot/Reverse Shot Ruminations on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict,” was published in the March 2013 issue of the online film journal Senses of Cinema as part of the journal’s “Cinémathèque Annotations on Film” series.

The essay explores French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard’s political employment of the Classical Hollywood film device of the shot/reverse shot in his 2004 French experimental film Notre Musique to analyze the dialectical relationship between text and image, and Israelis and Palestinians.
