Congratulations to Campus Recreation’s Outdoor Recreation team for winning the NIRSA Outstanding Sports Facilities Award for the Leadership Challenge Complex. This prestigious honor is awarded to NIRSA (National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association) member institutions for their innovative and impactful recreation facilities that help provide students a desirable and valuable college experience. An award winning facility must demonstrate excellence in functionality and architectural design as well as fulfill its programming objectives. Given that research links strong recreational programs and facilities with overall student satisfaction, this award is a testament to Georgia Tech’s continuing efforts to provide the highest quality experience for its students.
For those of you who have experienced the Leadership Challenge Complex, you understand that this award winning facility provides more than just an adrenaline rush. This outdoor laboratory is an extremely versatile tool that engages participants in one-of-a-kind experiences, often with the aid of technology, to develop leadership and teamwork skills – qualities that benefit us all including our students as they complete college and enter the workplace.
If you haven’t experienced the Leadership Challenge Complex, or would like another go on the ropes, contact Matt Marcus at Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech 404.385.1374 for more information.
