While some college students may drink, more and more drink in ways that can place them and others at risk. Alcohol can interfere with relationships, classes, and day-to-day functioning. The early detection of a problem, or potential problem, with alcohol is a smart and responsible move.
National Alcohol Screening Day will give students the chance to take a free, anonymous alcohol screening and learn about unhealthy drinking habits. All participants will be given a T-shirt and you can secure a spot by signing up in advance online.
While the screenings are not diagnostic, in a matter of a few minutes students will get a very good idea of whether they may have a problem that requires further attention. With all the serious consequences stemming from alcohol, this is very valuable knowledge to have. The brief screening will also connect students with help if needed.
This event is supported by grant funds from the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. Take the free self-assessment, or recommend the screening to a friend who might be struggling with alcohol.
