New Student & Sophomore Programs Wins Big at SROW

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Representing the Office of New Student & Sophomore Programs, FASET Cabinet Members and Wreck Camp Directors traveled to Memphis this past month to attend the SROW (Southeastern Regional Orientation Workshop) Conference and received top honors - more than any of the 55 institutions represented - in the following categories:

  • 1st place in the Song portion of the Song, Skit, Dance Competition for their portrayal of Les Miserables: GT Edition;
  • 2nd place in Banner Competition;
  • Best Problem Solving in the Undergraduate Case Study Competition; and
  • Best Overall/Most Spirited School.
 

In addition, this very talented delegation of students and professional staff presented six educational sessions showcasing the great work happening in new student and retention programming at Georgia Tech. Congratulations team and thank you for your contributions to Georgia Tech's orientation, transition and retention efforts!
