No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Prof. Stefan France has been awarded the 2013 Georgia Tech Sigma Xi Young Faculty Award. The award recognizes his expertise and leadership in the areas of intramolecular Friedel-Crafts annulations and ring-opening annulations of cyclopropanes and cyclopropenes. The methods his group develops can be used to tackle difficult scientific problems, including ones in natural product synthesis, medicinal chemistry, materials science, and the chemical origins of life.
Sigma Xi is the international honor society of research scientists and engineers, with nearly 65,000 members in 100 countries, including more than 200 Nobel laureates. Since 1886, the Society has been unique in promoting a spirit of cooperation among researchers in every field of science and technology.
