The Global Atlanta news service has teamed up with The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs to host two sessions titled: “Understanding the World Through Soccer.”
Kirk Bowman, an associate professor at The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, teaches the popular course “Soccer and Global Politics” and will moderate the panel discussions.
The first session is to be held at the Clary Theater on the Georgia Tech campus from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, March 13 and is to feature the soccer leagues and teams in the Americas to be followed at a later date by a session on Europe and Africa.
The program is being developed so local businesspeople will be able to learn about the leagues and teams around the world and to them to make inroads in overseas communities when they are conducting business abroad. It also should raise the profile of what already is an active soccer scene in Atlanta and create positive networking events for local businesspeople with soccer enthusiasts.
