Grammy winning hip-hop audio engineer Young Guru, who engineered 10 of Jay-Z’s 11 albums, will return to Georgia Tech on Tuesday, March 5 for a far-reaching discussion on hip-hop and its history, the art of audio engineering, and their broad cultural implications.

Nettrice Gaskins, a doctoral candidate in Georgia Tech’s Digital Media program, will conduct an interview and moderate questions from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. in the Clough Commons 4th floor study area. The event is presented in collaboration with WREK’s Sci-Fi Lab.

In a public lecture, Young Guru will demonstrate his innovative engineering techniques, discuss his collaborations with Jay-Z and others, and use these examples to help articulate his vision for a transforming music industry. The lecture will take place from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. in the Clough Commons Auditorium 152.

Young Guru’s visit to Georgia Tech is sponsored by the School of Music, the College of Architecture, the College of Engineering, the Ivan Allen College, the GVU Center, and the Office of Institute Diversity.
