The Sports, Society, and Technology program presents a lecture by Sam Strickling, entitlted, "Make It Unfair: How Technology Is Changing The Way Sports Are Played." Mr. Strickling's lecture will introduce students to the field of sports science and explain how engineers can work in the sports science field.
Mr. Strickling is the Academic Research Marketing Manager at the National Instruments. He is also a former Division-One Athlete Track & Field and Football from Baylor University. At Baylor, he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Business Entrepreneurship.
His current research focuses on how technology is used in universities. At the National Instruments, he has built more than 10 sports science capstone design projects, including some that involve current Georgia Tech students.
The event is free and open to the public, and reservations are not required.
