There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Carl DiSalvo will be speaking at the kick-off event for the Nerds for Nature, Thursday, February 21, in San Francisco. Nerds for Nature is a new organization developed to "bring together technologists and environmental professionals to collaboratively build awesome tools to understand, protect, and revive the natural world." (http://nerdsfornature.org/)
DiSalvo will also participate in Eco-Hack SF, February 22 & 23, in San Francisco. Eco-Hack SF is a two-day event "about using technology to improve and better understand our natural environment." (http://ecohacksf.org/). Participation in the Eco-Hack is part of ongoing research that DiSalvo and DM PhD student Thomas Lodato are doing that investigates hackathons as ad-hoc design events.
