The Georgia Tech Chamber Choir will present The Sung Word, poetry set to music. The concert will also feature three Lovett School choral ensembles – Lovett Singers, Women’s Chorus, and Men’s Chorus, performing their selections for their upcoming Florida tour. The Lovett Singers will combine with the GT choir to perform Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, a powerful and engaging work that is one of the masterworks of the last century. Performed with harp, organ, and percussion, this piece will also feature 7th Grade Lovett student Carter McPherson, treble. The Chamber Choir will also perform Walton Cantico del Sol, a work with text by St. Francis of Assisi sung in Umbrian Italian, as well as the Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music.
The concert is free and open to the public. The location is St. John United Methodist
Church, 550 Mt. Paran Road, Atlanta, GA 30327. Please plan to arrive early, as a large
crowd is anticipated!
