Directed by Du Haibin, 1428 is an award-winning documentary of the earthquake that devastated China's Sichan province in 2008 and explores how victims, citizens, and officials respond to a national tragedy.

The Independent Chinese Film Series is curated by Qi Wang, of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. Sponsors include the China Research Center, Georgia Tech, Emory University, Georgia State University, and Kennesaw State University.
