Full Summary: The Georgia Tech Westside Taskforce is a joint initiative with the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and the College of Architecture.

The Westside Communities Alliance is a communications network for communities west of the I-75/85 Connector to partner on issues of common concern. Launched jointly in 2011 by the neighborhoods of English Avenue and Vine City, and Georgia Tech’s Westside Task Force, the Westside Communities Alliance works to build relationships between these constituencies.

The GT Westside Task Force seeks to unite all faculty, staff, students and alumni that have ongoing work in the Westside and act as a model for institutional engaged scholarship and service.

This meeting will cover a review of the WCA's work in Fall 2012, a review of the updated and redesigned website, and ongoing Westside student engagement (focusing on Community Service Council, Youth Enrichment Program, GT TRUST, Jumpstart, and individual work at Atlanta Harm Reduction). Faculty and staff members are encouraged to give updates on their courses and projects such as COA Common First Year, Food & Technology Studio, Northside Drive Transit Corridor, IBB Project Engage, Semester in the City, Community Historian Project, COC Parent STEM Portal, and more.
