EXPERT JACKET: Congressman Phil Gingrey (Chem 66)

The Student Alumni Association and the Office of Government and Community Relations welcome expert Georgia Tech alumnus and Congressman Phil Gingrey. Congressman Gingrey represents Georgia's 11th congressional district. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1965 with a degree in Chemistry and went on to earn his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. He practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for 26 years before he began his career in politics.
In 2002, he joined the U.S. House of Representatives; he currently serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and in previous terms he served on the Armed Services Committee, the Rules Committee, the Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the Science and Technology Committee. In the 110th Congress, Congressman Gingrey served as the Ranking Member of the Science Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation.
