(prizes to be announced)
WHO
All School of Architecture Students enrolled in studio from sophomore level up through D+R Studios will work as studio teams.
Teams are structured around existing studios and studio instructors, and include Master of Science and PhD students.
All charrette participants will be granted free admission to the Ball. Refreshment wristbands are available for $10 for those 21+ years of age (proof of ID will be required at the door).
All School of Architecture Design Faculty teaching in those studio levels, plus all other faculty members and administrators who want to participate will be assigned to a team..
All other COA students and faculty are welcome to join or form teams as of 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
HOW
Faculty are encouraged to bring to their groups reference material based on their own interests; this might include films, forward-looking architectural proposals from the past, comic books, science or science fiction, etc.
The outcome of each studio may include one proposition from the entire team; or several articulated propositions produced from within the group or simply costumes for the entire group. However, at a minimum, each team is to produce one costume and one backdrop against which the person wearing the costume will pose. The backdrop is an opportunity to produce large, visionary drawings, projections, or additional constructions.
Media are left open to discussion and determination by each team.
Each studio will be supplied with some material; large, rolled paper whose dimensions
remain TBD; other materials should be from “recycled” sources.
Please RSVP and purchase refreshment tickets at www.gtbeauxartsball.com.
