A group of professionals in the Chinese banking industry visited the School of Economics as a part of the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program on November 2, 2012.
Christine Ries, professor in the School of Economics, lead an open discussion on tax reform, banking regulations, current events, and politics. Patrick McCarthy and Willie Belton, both of the School of Economics, and Jim Verbrugge, professor of business at the University of Georgia, contributed to the conversation.
The visitors were chosen by U.S. embassy staff as emerging leaders in their country for the program, which focuses on intercultural idea exchange through citizen diplomats. In addition to their stop in Atlanta, the group also visited Washington DC, New York, St. Louis, and San Francisco.
