College of Architecture Dean Alan Balfour has been named as one of DesignIntelligence magazine's 30 Most Admired Educators for 2013. According to the November/December 2012 issue, the honorees were selected with the help of educators and administrators of academic programs in architecture, industrial design, interior design, and landscape architecture. Dean Balfour's citation noted that he has "demonstrated courage, innovation and leadership in designing and implementing structural changes that have revitalized the College of Architecture and its programs at Georgia Tech, including such diverse areas as industrial design and music."
This is the second time in recent years that DesignIntelligence has singled out Balfour. In 2004, the publication included him in its list of "30 Leaders Who Bridge Practice and Education."
