According to research done by the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, microneedle patches that can immunize against measles have been developed. The study shows that the patches, which are easy to administer and painless, can also immunize at least as well as a vaccine that is administered through hypodermic needles. Mark Prausnitz, a professor in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, is one of the inventors of the microneedle patch. Read the full story here.
