The Women's Resource Center recently attended the National Women's Studies Association Conference in Oakland, California. Both Melanie DeMaeyer, program coordinator, and Colleen Riggle, director, co-presented a poster session during the Women's Center Committee pre-conference and general conference session on "Best Practices for Imaging a Future of Feminist Leader: The Social Change Model of Leadership."
Additionally, Melanie DeMaeyer co-presented on "From 'Purity Balls' and Anti-Choice Politics to Racial Immigration Practices: Strategies for Resistance and Change." Colleen Riggle co-presented on "Supervising through a Feminist Lens."
Colleen is embarking upon her third and final year co-chairing the Women's Center Committee and Melanie was chair of the annual awards this year.
