Did you know that a growing trend among staff in Student Affairs is to commit their time (and bodies) to accomplishing amazing physical feats? And I am not talking about hitting the treadmill every so often. These enthusiasts are literally going the distance - in some cases running over 26 miles! Please give a big round of applause to the following participants. Their accomplishments are truly inspiring.
Cara Appel-Silbaugh, associate dean of students, and Chrissy Daniel, graduate assistant in the Office of New Student & Sophomore Programs, both completed the "AthHalf" Athens Half Marathon this fall.
Nelson Binggeli, psychologist at the Counseling Center, won first place in the Brownwood Bike Rally. Nelson has also participated in several long-distance bicycle rides, including the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia, Wheels of Fire, Wilson 100, and Up the Creek without a Pedal.
Georgia Braxton, administrative assistant for SGA, completed the 13.1 Half Marathon and the Soldier Marathon this fall.
Chris Dreger, client services manager in the Office of the Arts, participated in the Savannah Rock and Roll Marathon.
Colleen Riggle, assistant dean and director of the Women's Resource Center; Sarah Perkins, civic engagement coordinator; and Jordan Holiday, coordinator of sophomore programs, participated in the Silver Comet Half Marathon this past October.
Dean of Students John Stein recently raced in the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon as well as the Atlanta Track Club-Marathon Relay.
