Please join the Center for European and Transatlantic Studies (CETS) of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, the German Consulate General, and the Goethe Zentrum (German Cultural Institute) in hosting the second of two lectures by Dr. Andrea Mehrländer.
Ever wonder what is was like to be a German living in the south during the American Civil War? Mehrländer has recently released two books on the subject and in her talk she’ll be introducing them as she discusses the lives of Germans in Charleston, Richmond, and New Orleans during the war – a truly unique topic!
Light refreshments will be served. RSVP by Tuesday, November 6th to the Center for European and Transatlantic Studies of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech.
Dr. Andrea Mehrländer is a native of Berlin and has been working as the Executive Director of Berlin’s Checkpoint Charlie Foundation since 2001.
