“Supply Chain Transformation During Challenging Times: The Need for Strategic Leadership” is the theme for the ninth annual National Logistics & Distribution Conference (NLDC) scheduled for April 15-17, 2013 at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center and Georgia Tech Global Learning Center in Atlanta, Georgia. A premier educational event for senior-level, supply-chain executives, NLDC will offer three educational tracks including Identifying Change: Supply Chain Tipping Points; Digital Change: Technology’s Impact on Customers and Commerce within the Supply Chain; and Leading Change: Executive Leadership in Strategic Planning.

 

NLDC is pleased to announce that Dr. Fariborz Ghadar will deliver the opening keynote address. Dr. Ghadar is the William A. Schreyer Professor of Global Management, Policies and Planning at Penn State University as well as Founding Director for Penn State’s Center for Global Business Studies. In addition, he is a Senior Advisor and Distinguished Scholar at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC. Dr. Ghadar will speak on 7 Trends of Global Tectonics a subject based on his book, “Global Tectonics: What Every Business Needs to Know.”

 

“Dr. Ghadar is a recognized authority on global economics and global corporate strategy. It is a privilege to have him open NLDC 2013 with what promises to be a very timely message for all of us in supply chain leadership,” said Ron Dahlin, NLDC’s executive director.

 

NLDC’s Board of Advisors assist in developing the annual conference’s theme, tracks and session topics relative to current supply chain challenges, trends and innovations; and with reviewing and selecting speakers. Members of the NLDC Board of Advisors include Brent R. Beabout, senior vice president of supply chain for Office Depot in Boca Raton, Florida; Rick D. Blasgen, president and CEO for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals in Lombard, Illinois; John J. Coyle, director of corporate relations for the Center for Supply Chain Research and professor emeritus of logistics and supply chain management for Penn State University in University Park, Pennsylvania; Rob Dugas, vice president of supply chain for Chick-fil-A, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia; and Gough Grubbs, senior vice president of logistics/distribution for Stage Stores in Houston, Texas.

 

NLDC 2013 is hosted by Georgia Tech’s Supply Chain & Logistics Institute, recognized as a leader of supply chain and logistics education. The conference is produced by Peach State Integrated Technologies known for providing end-to-end, supply chain and material handling systems consulting, engineering, implementation and integration services to a broad spectrum of supply chain leaders.
