International Education Week (November 12 - 16, 2012) is a joint initiative of the US Dept. of State and Dept. of Education. The Governor of Georgia, Nathan Deal, has also recognized the International Education Week in the state of Georgia through an official proclamation!
Congratulations to the Georgia Association of International Educators (GAIE) Advocacy Subcommittee who were invited to the Georgia Capitol on October 25 to receive the proclamation and take a photo with the Governor.
Members (left to right):
Brett Reichert, Clayton State University
Amanda Roshan-Rawaan, Georgia State University (chair)
Rebecca Bacon, Georgia Institute of Technology
Throughout the week, colleges and universities across the country plan events on their campuses to highlight the growing importance of international education and exchange from both inbound (international students in the US) and outbound (study abroad) perspectives.
Georgia Tech’s Office of International Education invites you to attend the various activities, such as an international coffee hour and the annual OIE Photo Contest Gallery, to celebrate the week. For a listing of events, please visit: http://oie.gatech.edu/iew
