There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The Manufacturing Research Center held the facilitated workshop, "AFOSR/AFRL/NASA Joint Workshop on Nanotube Assemblages for Structures" at the Technology Square Research Building (TSRB) at Georgia Tech. The challenges and barriers of translating the potential of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to macroscale aerospace structures were discussed and debated.
There were 36 attendees from industry, government, and education. The format of the workshop included focused panel discussions with specific guiding questions to address the tall poles in making structural nanomaterials a reality. The workshop focused on the subset of CNT materials techology for structural applications. Sessions included:
