Getting a root canal or a filling can be a pain  — literally and figuratively — so no one wants to deal with more hassle when it comes to the logistics of getting dental work done.

If you’re looking for a dental care option that is easy to get to, look no further than Tech Dentistry, a new on-campus option for Georgia Tech faculty, staff, students and the surrounding community.

“It’s our goal to see the entire family in one setting,” said Frank Nia, one of the dentists in the practice. “We offer all traditional dental procedures like routine and deep cleanings, crowns and dentures and specialize in areas such as oral surgery, endodontics, sedation dentistry and orthodontics.”

The clinic, which opened in May, is located in Stamps Health Services in the same location as the dental clinic that closed last year.

“The previous dental clinic was owned and operated by Georgia Tech, whereas Tech Dentistry is privately owned and operated,” Nia said. “Also, we’ve completed a $250,000 renovation of the facility to ensure that our equipment is state-of-the-art.”

Nia and the other dentists in the practice have been trained in general practice dentistry, as well as implantology, periodontal and oral surgery, and IV-conscious sedation.

Tech Dentistry is in-network with Humana and MetLife PPO dental plans and also accepts and is in-network with more than 20 other PPO plans from major insurance carriers. Members of the Tech community can receive a 10 percent discount off the patient portion of treatment. (To receive the discount, patients will need to show a valid Tech ID.)

Patients also have the option to sign up for the clinic’s discount plan. For $249 a year, a patient will receive two cleanings, two exams and two sets of X-rays every 12 months. With the discount plan, any further treatment will be discounted by 20 percent.

The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will observe all Institute holidays. To make an appointment, call 404-733-2022.
