Josh McLaglen, executive producer and first assistant director for the Twentieth Century Fox movie "The Internship" (currently being filmed at Georgia Tech and at other locations around Atlanta) will present a seminar on movie making in a technologically-advanced industry. McLaglen's films include "Avatar" and "Titanic," and he has worked with a diverse mix of directors including Taylor Hackford, James Cameron, Robert Zemekis, Shawn Levy and others.
As one of the industry's pioneers of Real Time motion capture technology, McLaglen's presentation will focus on the technology paradigm and cutting edge apps for virtual production.
McLaglen will be joined by Tom Meyer, art director for the movie. Meyer will address the art department paradigm. The presenters may also be joined by several guest speakers who will add their observations on movie making. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.
Due to space limitations, this event is open to the first 300 people who RSVP to deborah.greene@spaceplan.gatech.edu.
