Mathematica and iPads: Innovative Uses of Technology for Teaching and Learning
Monday, August 13th, 2012
11:00 am-1:00 pm
Wilby Room, Library
If you’re interested in exploring Mathematica and/or iPads as instructional tools, this workshop is for you!
The session will begin with two examples from faculty. Jim Craig will highlight how he uses “Mathematica” for courses in structural mechanics (COE3001 and AE3125). Next, Damon Williams will present “The Top 5 iPad Apps to Use for Instruction.”
Participants will then join discussion groups on either Mathematica or iPads and serve as resources to each other. How are faculty currently using this tool for instruction? What possibilities do you see for using this tool in your instruction in the future? (If you plan to be part of the iPad group, please bring your iPad to the session so that you can show others how you use it.)
The workshop will conclude with highlights from each group and an invitation to indicate whether (and if so, how) you would like to connect with peers on this topic in the future.
