The Georgia Tech Police Department’s Office of Emergency Preparedness and Atlanta Fire Rescue Department are conducting a fire response drill at Matheson and Perry Residence Halls on Monday, June 25, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
The drill offers opportunities to improve incident command operations, but more specifically, opportunities to improve familiarity with response to Georgia Tech residence halls. There will be approximately 15 emergency response vehicles along Techwood Drive in the area between Bobby Dodd and Fifth Street.
There will be minor delays along Techwood during the initial phases of the exercise. The exercise will include smoke in the area and role-playing "victims." This emergency response exercise is part of a larger series of summer drills that include smaller tabletop exercises within various facilities and departments.
