Full Summary: All incoming students are invited. Parents and guests are also invited and encouraged to attend and celebrate their student's entry into Georgia Tech. A special reception for parents and guests will be held immediately before the Convocation ceremony.

All incoming students are invited to attend New Student Convocation on Sunday, August 19, from 5-6:30 pm at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC), Georgia Ballroom. Parents and guests are also invited and encouraged to attend and celebrate their student's entry into Georgia Tech. A special reception for parents and guests will be held immediately before the Convocation ceremony.

Parking will be available in the GWCC Blue Lot for $10.

Campus Shuttles are available for all students departing from 3:15-3:45 p.m. in two locations:

  1. East Campus - Outside of Field Residence Hall
  2. West Campus - Outside of Hefner Residence Hall


Immediately Following Convocation
Students will attend a special party sponsored by Auxiliary Services- the 19th Annual Caribbean Party- which celebrates their first night as a Georgia Tech college student. It will be held in the Student Center, and students may take a shuttle or walk over there after the Convocation ceremony. This is a free event for new students.
