There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Jenny Drinkard (ID 2011), while interning in China after graduation, submitted and sold two clever products through the social product development company, Quirky.com. Check out the most recent product, the Quirky Crate, on Vimeo.
Quirky.com selects ideas for further development through "community curation" and "staff evaluation." During community curation, members of the Quirky.com online community view, vote and comment on all the Ideas submitted. Quirky staff then looks through Ideas and, based on many factors including number of community votes and issues raised in community comments, creates a short list of Ideas with the most promise. The Quirky community then gets to submit similar existing products, collaborative edit suggestions and more comments to Ideas in this short list. The idea is then evaluated by Quirky staff for design potential, marketing potential and viability.
